Examples are like a discontinuous numbered list and essential feature of linguistic articles. Again see https://www.glossa-journal.org/articles/10.5334/gjgl.503/ for plenty of examples.

Examples usually contain a gloss issue 4, but can also contain tables, lists, or other elements.

It would be nice to have examples offset from the main text like blockquotes (so with the red background, but without italics!)

I think that this issue has mostly been solved by the gloss shortcode, but I have to check whether it applies in all cases.
